School Closure or 2 Hour Delay Protocol  (due to inclement weather)

• Families will be notified by 6am (if possible) the morning of a school closure or delay.

• Notifications will be sent to families through the school district message system and will be shared with the three major news channels (KREM, KXLY, KHQ).

• School delay or closure information will also be available on our crisis line at (509) 340-4321.

• Anytime a 2-hour delay is called, buses will arrive 2 hours later than normal and school will start 2 hours later than normal. The school day will end at the normal time.

• If a 2-hour delay is called on a Thursday, the 2-hour delay will be based on the typical M, T, W, F start time, not the typical Thursday start time.

• Breakfast will not be served on a day with a 2-hour delay. However, lunch will be served.

• In rare circumstances snow routes/stops may be used for certain bus routes/stops. Students on these snow routes/stops will receive information from First Student Transportation regarding the snow route bus stop location. If the use of a snow route/stop is needed, it will be communicated in our message to all families.
